Nirbhaya Rape Case: Rishi Kapoor Says 'Ridiculous' As Delhi Court Stays Execution Of Convicts; Cites ‘Tareekh Pe Tareekh’ Dialogue
After Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli Chandel, Rishi Kapoor took to Twitter to slam the delay in execution of the convicts in Nirbhaya rape case
The four men convicted in the 2012 Nirbhaya rape case were to be hanged together on Tuesday, March 3, at 6 am. However, now a Delhi court has reportedly deferred their execution until further order. According to Times Of India, the court passed the order on convict Pawan Gupta's plea seeking to stay the execution as he has filed a mercy petition before the President on Monday. This is the third time that the convicts’ execution is being deferred. Following the stay, Rishi Kapoor took to his Twitter to slam the delay in execution.
Rishi Kapoor is furious about the delay in the execution of the convicts. Expressing his frustration about the deferring of the convicts’ execution for the third time, he called it ridiculous and tweeted, “Nirbhaya case. Tareekh pe tareekh,tareekh pe tareekh, tareekh pe tareekh- “Damini”. Ridiculous!” The dialogue is from Rajkumar Santoshi’s 1993 film Damini, and is actually Sunny Deol’s rant against the justice system. A quick look at the comments on Rishi Kapoor’s tweets shows that Twitterati also echoes the same sentiments.
Not just Rishi Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli Chandel had also slammed the judiciary, shaming them for following the same system made by the British ages ago.
