In Varun Dhawan's filmography so far, October is one of the best films he has ever been a part of. While he's known for his comic-timing and doing lover boy roles, October, in fact, gave him a platform to show off his acting prowess. He received a lot of critical acclaim for portraying the role of Dan. Varun even received Best Actor Critics Award at Filmfare for this film. The story is about a boy who develops unconditional love for colleague Suili, who suffered an accident as she fell from the top of the building. In a recent conversation with a fan on Twitter, Varun remembered the time when he broke down on the sets.

A fan asked him a question, "@ShoojitSircar When Shiuli's mom asks Dan to move on as she felt selfish post his mother's visit, Dan's reaction is not shown but he complies nonetheless. Was not showing Dan's reaction intentional? What's the significance? #October @Varun_dvn." To this, the actor replied, "That’s an amazing question . I had infact broken down while filming that scene
@ShoojitSircar." Director Shoojit Sircar too replied to this query of the fan and stated that it was an intentional move to not show Dan's reaction.

Truly, October will remain special to many, especially Varun Dhawan. Banita Sandhu shared the screen space with Varun in this film. She essayed the role of his colleague Suili who met with the accident.
