OMG 2: CBFC Orders 20 Cuts, 'Adults Only' Certificate! Akshay Kumar Starrer PUT ON HOLD As Makers Are 'NOT OKAY' With Changes?
Bollywood experts eagerly waited for the Gadar 2 and OMG 2 clash at the box office on the Independence Day weekend. However, things seem to have taken a turn for the worst for the Akshay Kumar starrer. Well, as per the latest reports, Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel's movie will have a clear run because OMG 2 makers are upset with the CBFC.

Following the commotion around Adipurush, CBFC has become more careful about films with religious context. ALSO READ | OMG 2 Teaser OUT: Akshay Kumar Returns As Lord Shiva As He Comes To Solve Pankaj Tripathi’s Problems

A recent Bollywood Hungama report maintained that Revising Committee has suggested 20 cuts to the makers of OMG 2. These also include audio and video deletions. Moreover, they have suggested that they go in for an adults-only certification for the movie.

Previously, it was speculated that OMG 2 had an LGBTQ angle but the makers denied the same. Pankaj Tripathi told people not to believe anything that was being said. But it looks like the film does have a theme of sex education somewhere.

As an obvious reaction, the makers are unhappy with the cuts as they feel it will ruin the essence of the movie. A Bollywood Hungama report quoted a source as saying, "They are also not okay with an ‘A’ certificate. After all, they feel that the topic of sex education should be seen by people of all ages."

The first instalment of OMG came out in 2012, and kids loved the film. The makers feel it is not right to have an adult rating for a kid-friendly franchise.

OMG 2 stars Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam in lead roles. According to the reports, the film narrates the story of a boy who gets bullied due to his LGBTQ orientation.

While many believe that the theme was okay, some opined that there was no need for a religious spin to the tale. The first look of Lord Shiva as Mahadev has been appreciated by one and all. ALSO READ | DID YOU KNOW Paresh Rawal REFUSED To Be A Part Of Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2? Read To Know WHY
