The makers of the film fear a major controversy
Not so long ago, Paresh Rawal disclosed in an interview that the script for the sequel of his path breaking film OMG! Oh My God has been locked. He had also said that the film will be co-produced by him and Akshay Kumar. Umesh Shukla who directed the original had been assigned to direct the second part too.
But the latest is that Rawal, Akshay and Shukla have had second thoughts. OMG! Oh My God sequel is most unlikely to be made.
Why? A source close to the film says, "Blame it on the furore over PK, and more recently, Dharam Sankat Mein. Shukla, Akshay and Paresh have decided that they should rather come up with another out-of-the-box idea. PK and Dharam Sankat Mein faced a lot of ire from certain political groups. We don't want any controversy."
For those who have come in late, PK was considered to be very similar to OMG! Oh My God. Dharam Sankat Mein is the official remake of the 2010 British comedy The Infidel directed by Josh Appignanesi.
