Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan enjoys a huge fan following all over the world. While he made a smashing big-screen comeback with YRF’s spy-thriller Pathaan, his fans have been waiting for him to return as Don. Years after being in the scripting stage, recently during an interview producer Ritesh Sidhwani had revealed that they are working on the much-loved franchise’s third instalment. Fans were left ecstatic at the news, however, now it is being reported that SRK has decided to exit the movie.

According to Pinkvilla, the actor has made the tough decision after going through many detailed discussions with the makers of the movie. While a script was made for the same during the pandemic, SRK is unwilling to return to the franchise as he wants to focus more on doing “commercial films that cater to universal section of audience.” The makers even dabbled with the idea of making the franchise bigger by bringing in Amitabh Bachchan’s don, Shah Rukh’s Don and a gen-next star’s don to “lay down a platform for the generational shift.”


As per the source, that is close to the development, told the entertainment publication that the maker’s idea of spinning a Don universe would be gimmicky which led the 57-year-old actor to announce his exit from the much-awaited project. According to the reports, Farhan is now planning to reboot the franchise with a new leading man.

Well, as soon as the news surfaced the internet, fans have taken to social media to express their displeasure over ruining the much-loved franchise. Many had flooded Twitter sharing their anger and sadness over the change and others have breathed a sigh of relief that SRK wants to focus more on good projects.












Talking about Farhan Akhtar, he is currently busy with pre-production of his upcoming movie Jee Le Zaraa starring Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif. The film will be going on the floors in November 2023 with a start to finish schedule. The makers’ aim is to release the movie by mid-2024.
