Actor Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai’s wedding in 2007 was one of the most talked about affairs. The couple got married in a close-knit ceremony at the actor's residence Prateeksha, Mumbai. Ahead of their D-day, a model named Jhanvi Kapoor (not to be mistaken with Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor) created a big controversy as she claimed that Abhishek cheated on her and that she was already married to him. The model’s shocking accusations back then were a hot topic of discussion on national channels.
It was reported that Jhanvi Kapoor tried to lodge a case against the actor but due to lack of proof, Mumbai Police did not register the case. Jhanvi had worked with Amitabh Bachchan’s son in the film ‘Dus.’ Many believed that it was just a publicity stunt of the model. Jhanvi outside Abhishek’s home Prateeksha attempted suicide by cutting her wrist to prove her love for the actor. She was taken to a nearby hospital after she cut her wrist. The model accused Aishwarya of stealing the actor from her. Juhu Police later probed and charged Jhanvi with attempting suicide under Section 309 of the Indian Penal Code. She was released from custody after paying Rs. 10,000. After this incident, Jhanvi Kapoor was never spotted outside Abhishek’s residence nor made any statements in the media. She disappeared after this huge controversy.
Meanwhile, Abhishek and Aishwarya welcomed their first child, daughter Aaradhya in 2011 after three years of their wedding. The couple since then has been getting stronger and is adored by millions.
