Karan Johar was honoured with Padma Shri Award by President Ram Nath Kovind at the ceremony
On Monday, filmmaker Karan Johar received the prestigious Padma Shri Award at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. KJo, who is currently on cloud nine, posted a video of him being conferred with the award and penned a note. Karan thanked everyone for all the love and wishes.
Sharing the video, Karan wrote in the caption, "Today felt surreal! I am honoured and humbled that the prestigious Padma Shri Award was bestowed on me. I feel extremely fortunate to receive it from the hands of our honourable President Shri Ram Nath Kovind. This is a monumental day for me, my mother, my kids and my company, and will forever be etched in my memory. Thank you so much for all your wishes and the abundance of love!"
Fans and friends of the filmmaker showered love on him. Tiger Shroff commented, "Congratulations sir... so well deserved." Dino Morea, Diana Penty, Ranveer Singh, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Aditya Seal, Abhinav Shukla and others congratulated him. Varun Dhawan took to his Instagram story and posted a photo of him from the ceremony and wrote, "Congratulations @karanjohar on this momentous achievement." On Tuesday, Karan shared a bunch of photos and revealed how his kids reacted after he won the award. KJo wrote in the caption, "About last evening... A truly memorable moment of my life... I knew I would have made my father so proud and was so happy to have my mom there by my side... My babies asked me "dada you won a medal?" and I replied "yes I did I hope you do too one day"!! The #padmashri... Humbled and honoured. Thank you @manishmalhotra05 for styling the evening for me."
