Earlier, we reported that Ajay Devgn's Drishyam director Nishikant Kamat passed away in a Hyderabad hospital. The filmmaker was admitted after he was diagnosed with jaundice and abdominal distention. Now, legendary Indian classical vocalist Shri Pandit Jasraj passed away at the age of 90 in the US. As soon as his demise news broke, fans and well-wishers across the country have been sending their condolences and tributes on social media. As the classical singer is no more between us, we came across a throwback video of the classical singer along with Amitabh Bachchan where he was seen praising the megastar for his singing prowess.
Well, in an old interview with NDTV, the late classical singer said that the Gulabo Sitabo actor is a wonderful singer who had lent his powerful vocals in Sujoy Ghosh's directorial film, Kahaani's Ekla Cholo Re. In the interview, as soon as Big B greets the classical singer, he quickly appreciated Amitabh Bachchan for his singing chops where he is heard saying, "Aap bohot acha gaate hai, sir, sach kehta hu mein. Wo Ekla Cholo Re kya gaaya hai, wah wah."
Meanwhile, over 80 years of his career, the legendary singer had gained a lot of honours and prestigious accolades including the Padma Shri in 1975, Padma Bhushan in 1990 and Padma Vibhushan 2000. His contribution to the Indian Classical music industry will always be remembered and cherished amongst his fans.
