Ashutosh Gowariker’s Panipat starring Arjun Kapoor is one of the most anticipated releases of the year. The period drama narrates the historical Third Battle of Panipat in which Arjun Kapoor plays the role of Sadashiv Rao Bhau. Panipat also stars Sanjay Dutt and he plays the role pf Ahmed Shah Abdali, while Kriti Sanon will be seen as Parvati Bai. The lead cast Arjun Kapoor, Kriti and Sanjat Dutt shared the new poster of the film a few days ago which revealed that the film would release on December 6.  

Panipat is based on the Third Battle of Panipat fought between the Maratha army and invading Afghan forces and Arjun Kapoor seems to have put in a lot of hard work for his character. He had been treating his fans with glimpses of his inspiring transformation right from his intense gym workout sessions to learning horse riding. Looks like it has all paid off and Twitter is all praises for Panipat’s trailer featuring Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Sanjay Dutt. Most were impressed with Sanjay Dutt and Kriti Sanon’s performance, while a few thought Arjun Kapoor could have done better with his dialogue delivery. Director Ashutosh Gowariker’s last period drama was 2016 film Mohen Jodaro starring Hrithik Roshan and Pooja Hegde, and while that film failed to perform well at the box office, fans have a lot of expectations from Panipat. The film is produced by Sunita Gowariker and Rohit Shelatkar and will hit the screens on December 6, 2020.
