As per the latest reports, Anurag Kashyap has been summoned by Mumbai police. After accusing the filmmaker for sexual misconduct, some days back, actor Payal Ghosh filed an FIR against Anurag Kashyap. Reportedly, the FIR was registered under Indian Penal Code Sections 376 (I) (rape), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty,), 341 (wrongful restraint) and 342 (wrongful confinement). Payal in her complaint claimed that in the year 2013, Anurag Kashyap called her to his residence on the pretext of giving her work and claimed that he took her to his room and misbehaved. After the FIR was filed at Versova police station, Payal was summoned by the Mumbai police for questioning for her allegations made on Kashyap.
 
Well, the latest update in this case suggest that now the filmmaker is being summoned by the Mumbai police in connection with the alleged sexual assault against actor Payal Ghosh. Reportedly, the Sacred Games maker has been summoned tomorrow at 11 AM at Versova police station. According to news agency ANI, the official twitter handle shared a tweet saying, "Mumbai Police summons film director Anurag Kashyap asking him to appear at Versova Police station tomorrow at 11 am, in connection with the alleged sexual assault against actor Payal Ghosh."
 
After she levelled some serious allegations on Anurag, he dismissed the accusations and called it 'baseless' on social media. The actors like Taapsee Pannu, Huma Qureshi, Radhika Apte and more who have worked with him in the past have supported him.


Meanwhile, Anurag Kashyap shared his lawyer's official statement on the filmmaker’s behalf on his social media, and it read, “My client, Anurag Kashyap, has been deeply pained by the false allegations of sexual misconduct that have recently surfaced against him.
