Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan took social media by storm in 2022, when during the promotions of Bhediya, he on national television hinted that Kriti Sanon was dating her Adipurush co-star Prabhas. While on one hand reports of the couple planning to get married started doing the rounds on the internet, the actors denied all the speculation during their various media interactions.
Now, during an interview with BBC, Kriti opened up about the entire ordeal. She expressed how worried she was when Varun, during a segment on Jhalak Dikhla Jaa, hinted at her dating ‘someone who is currently shooting with Deepika Padukone.’ She revealed that Prabhas was left extremely confused as to why Varun would pull such a prank. Quoted by Indian Express, the actress told the media publication, “When Varun said that, I felt really bad—I felt like I had to tell Prabhas. I picked up the phone and told him about what Varun had said. He said, ‘But why?’ I said I don’t know. Prabhas asked why did he say that? So I said, ‘I don’t know, Varun’s mad…'”
She went on to reveal that Prabhas couldn’t process as to why Varun would do something like that and kept on asking for more clarification, to which she pacified him by saying that Varun is a friend and to not take him seriously. For the unversed, after the incident many reports started doing rounds on the internet that the rumoured couple, who has been severely dating each other, are planning to get engaged soon. Issuing a clarification on the same, Kriti had taken to Instagram stories to share that it was just a fun banter between friends.
On the work front, Kriti Sanon and Prabhas will be essaying the roles of Lord Ram and Sita on the big-screen with Om Raut directorial Adipurush.
