Previous Title Of Kartik Aaryan And Kiara Advani’s Film, ‘Satyanarayan Ki Katha’ Meant THIS; Had Nothing To Do With Any Religious Practice
Producer Sajid Nadiadwala had announced recently that Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani starrer, titled ‘Satyanarayan Ki Katha’ will be renamed. The decision was made after the title faced backlash.
Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani are all set to star in a love story directed by the National Award winning director, Sameer Vidwans. It was only recently that Kartik had shared a motion poster of the film, announcing his next project. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film was titled ‘Satyanarayan Ki Katha’. The title of the film faced severe backlash from certain sections of society for hurting religious sentiments. Later, after the controversy, producer Sajid Nadiadwala had announced that he will be renaming his epic love story.
With the makers renaming the film, as per a report, a source close to the production house has revealed that the title had nothing to do with religious sentiment. The source revealed that the title was actually a word play, suggesting the love story between the two lead characters of the film ‘Satyanarayan’ and ‘Katha’.
According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, the source said, “Initially, director Sameer Vidwan had named the two lead actors of his films - Satyanarayan and Katha. The title suggested how Satyanarayan wins over Katha with love and hence the title Satyanarayan Ki Katha." The report mentioned that the team of Kartik and Kiara’s film are now contemplating several titles. As per the report, they have also changed the names of the characters to Satya and Katha. Kartik’s name was changed from ‘Satyanarayan’ to Satya, while Kiara’s remained the same as earlier.
As per the report, a new title is expected to be locked in the next 20 days. The report mentioned that the team is looking to take the film on floors by the month of December with a flat 40 to 45 days schedule, before finally calling it a wrap. Meanwhile, after the backlash, Sameer Vidhwans had issued an official statement about the title change. His statement read: “A title of the film is something that emerges organically through the creative process. We have taken a decision to change the title of our recently announced film ‘Satyanarayan ki Katha’ to avoid hurting sentiments, even if that’s purely unintentional. Producers of the film and the creative team also are in complete support of this decision. We will be announcing a new title for our love story in the due course of our journey.” Kartik Aaryan had reposted the post made by Vidhwans on his Instagram.
Work-wise, this collaboration of Kiara and Kartik is their second. They are gearing up for their film, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, a horror comedy, directed by Anees Bazmee.
