Priyanka Chopra Appeals World Leaders To Come Together And Provide Help To Ukrainian Refugees; 'Can't Just Stand By And Watch, It's Gone On Too Long' -WATCH VIDEO
Priyanka Chopra shares an appeal to world leaders amid Ukraine crisis
Priyanka Chopra is an active social media user. Apart from sharing her pictures and videos, PeeCee also uses her platforms to talk about important issues. On Friday, Priyanka shared a video on Instagram. The Quantico actress made a direct appeal to global leaders. She urged everyone to come together to provide help to the refugees of Ukraine.
PeeCee, who is a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, said , "World leaders, this is a direct appeal to you. We need you to answer the call from activities and advocates working to support the humanitarian and refugee crisis that we are watching every day in Eastern Europe. We need you to take action to help the displaced people from Ukraine, and all the world."
She continued, "Two million children have been forced to leave everything behind in search of safety in neighbouring countries. Together with 2.5 million children internally displaced, it's one of the largest large-scale displacements since world war 2." Priyanka called these numbers "staggering" and added how the trauma will be carved in the memories of these children "forever." The actress asked, "None of the children will ever be the same after what they've seen and what they've experienced... So the leaders of the UK, Germany, Japan, Norway, Australia when you meet and decide how much funding you will give to support humanitarian aid, will you stand up for refugees everywhere?"
"Will you give the billions they need?" Chopra said. She wrote in the caption, "World leaders, we need you to stand up for refugees around the WORLD to ensure that they get the support they need now. We can't just stand by and watch. It's gone on too long!"
On the work front, PeeCee will be seen in Jee Le Zaraa with Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt. Besides that, she also has Text For You and Citadel. She will also be seen in Kevin Sullivan's action film, Ending Things, starring Anthony Mackie.
