Priyanka Chopra, who will be seen in The Matrix Resurrections, breaks silence on dropping 'Jonas' from her name on Instagram
Priyanka Chopra made headlines when she dropped husband, singer-actor Nick Jonas' surname from her name on Instagram. This triggered rumours that things are not well between PeeCee and Nick. It was also reported that the couple might be getting divorced soon. However, at that time, PeeCee's mother Dr Madhu Chopra had rubbished the rumours and asked everyone to refrain from making such false claims. And now, breaking silence on the whole matter is PeeCee, who asked everyone to 'just chill'.
In an interview with Times of India, Priyanka shared that she was amused how everything just 'becomes a huge deal to people'. Sharing the reason behind dropping 'Jonas' from her name, she said, "I don't know! I wanted the username to match my Twitter, I guess. I just find it really amusing that everything becomes such a huge deal to people! It's social media, guys. Just chill out!" On the work front, PeeCee will be seen in The Matrix Resurrections. Priyanka, who plays Sati, is super excited as the film hits the theatre screens today.
Dr Madhu Chopra is proud of her daughter's achievements. On Tuesday, she shared a picture with PeeCee from the premiere and wrote in the caption, "Celebrating the dedication you've shown on the way to this achievement. You've earned every bit of the success. Heartfelt Congratulations and Best wishes for the launch of Matrix and all your future endeavors."
The Matrix Resurrections features Priyanka, Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jessica Henwick, Jonathan Groff, Neil Pattrick Harris, Daniel Bernhardt, Jada Pinkett Smith and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II among others.
