Priyanka Chopra Opens Up On How She's Raising Her Daughter With Nick Jonas; 'I Have Always Believed That Children Come Through You Not From You'
Priyanka Chopra talks about her daughter for the first time
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas welcomed a baby girl in January this year. The child was born via surrogacy. Recently, during a chat with Lilly Singh about her new book 'Be a Triangle: How I Went from Being Lost to Getting My Life...," PeeCee opened up about her thought process as a new parent.
The actress said, "As a new parent right now, I keep thinking about that I will never be imposing my desires, fears, my upbringing on to my child. I have always believed that children come through you not from you. There is no belief like this is my child and I will shape everything. They come through you to find and build their own life. Recognising that really helped me, my parents were very non-judgemental in a certain way."
In January, PeeCee and Nick had announced the arrival of their baby girl by sharing a statement that read, "We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family. Thank you so much." Earlier, Priyanka's mother Dr Madhu Chopra had revealed that she hasn't met her grandchild yet. While talking to paparazzi, she also shared that the baby is yet to be named. Talking about becoming her grandmother, she said, "Nani bane toh bahut bahut khushi hui mujhe. I am only smiling all the time. I'm very happy."
On the work front, Priyanka will be seen next in Jee Le Zaraa, Text For You and Ending Things. She also has the Amazon Prime series Citadel with Richard Madden.
