Actress Priyanka Chopra has garnered a loyal fan base all over the world with her acting performances and fashion statements. She is currently busy promoting her upcoming movie Love Again co-starring Sam Heughan. Over the past few months, she has been throwing caution to the wind and opening up about her life experiences. From embracing motherhood late in her life with the right partner to talking about experiencing favouritism in Bollywood, she has made yet another shocking revelation.

During an interview on the The Howard Stern Show on Sirius XM, Priyanka spoke about the darkest phase of her life. She recalled the time, when she went into deep depression because of a botched nose surgery after she had won the Miss World 2000 title. She explained how she was having trouble breathing and had a 'lingering head cold'. After a visit to the doctor, they found out that she had a polyp (tissue growth) in her nasal cavity which could be removed by surgery. However, things didn’t go as planned. The 40-year-old actress, who was just about to start her career in acting, was fired from three movies because of her changed appearance. She revealed how she ‘went into a deep, deep depression,’ because of the difference in facial features. She feared that her career was over before it even started, but it was with her late father, Dr Ashok Chopra’s encouragement that she got a corrective surgery. She recalled how he “held my hands through it and helped me build back my confidence.”

On the work front, Priyanka Chopra has an exciting slate of upcoming projects. She will be next seen in the Russo brothers' spy thriller Citadel, co-starring Richard Madden. Apart from this, she has Love Again and Farhan Akhtar's Jee Le Zaraa, co-starring Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt in the pipeline.
