Priyanka-starrer Jai Gangaajal To Have 10 Songs

Prakash Jha's upcoming film Jai Gangaajal is packed with songs.
The hard-hitting cop drama that stars Priyanka Chopra in the lead, has no less than TEN numbers!
Says composer duo Salim-Suleiman, "Yes, there are 10 songs in the movie and we have already finished composing them. We are currently focusing on the background music."
Jha, known for making films based on various social issues, does include songs in his projects--but this is the first time the producer-director is packing in so many.
"We have worked with Jha before, our last outing being Satyagraha (2013). He has a brilliant understanding of all kinds of music, be it earthy songs, folk numbers, or Western music. He loves mixing music from two worlds, and the outcome is usually brilliant. Jai Gangaajal revolves around the social conditions prevailing in the dusty heartlands of North India. And the film's music reflects that," says Salim.
Given the number of songs, are we likely to see PeeCee, who plays Superintendent of Police Abha Mathur, breaking into a song or two?
"We can't reveal if Priyanka will lip-sync or not. All we can say is, music has been woven in beautifully and it will take the narrative forward," Suleiman says.
The film, which is slated to release next year, also stars Manav Kaul, Rahul Bhat, Murli Sharma and Ninad Kamath in pivotal roles.
