R Madhavan Has 'No Idea' About Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein Sequel; Says, 'Praying That Someone Has An Age Appropriate Script For Dia And I'

Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, starring R Madhavan and Dia Mirza, is among one of the most romantic films that Bollywood has ever produced. The film released almost two decades ago but it remains our favourite; be it because of its spectacular cast, iconic songs or the heartwarming story. Now, years later, the internet is buzzing with the speculations of its sequel and there have been rumours of the film's original cast reuniting for the same. However, it appears that Madhavan aka Maddy has no idea about the possibilities of Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein sequel and he hopes those are true, albeit with a condition.
Taking to his Twitter, the actor shared a picture of him and Dia recreating the film's romantic poster. In his caption, Madhavan shared that while he hopes that the rumours are true, he would want an age-appropriate script for him and Dia. As per Madhav, looking same as Maddy that he played 29 years ago in Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein would be quite difficult in today's time. The actor's caption read, "#RHTDM ..Guysss ...been reading rumors about the sequel .. and hoping it’s true-cause I have no idea about this."
He added, "Just praying that someone somewhere has an age appropriate script for Dia and I -varna अब madhav shastri बनना तो hathi को चड्डी पहनाने ke बराबर है."

As for the speculations surrounding Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein 2, a source revealed to Filmfare, “The makers toyed with some concepts, on and off, over the years. Only now have they found a script that has appealed to everyone and seems a natural progression to the lives of Maddy and Reena. The script is in the final stage of development."
