As theatres were asked to stay shut due to the outbreak of Coronavirus, one film that suffered the most was Angrezi Medium. The film starring Irrfan Khan, Radhika Madan and Kareena Kapoor Khan released just a few days before the lockdown and it had a direct impact on the box office numbers of the film. However, the makers have decided to re-release the film in theatres once the lockdown is over. But, all those who have Disney+ Hotstar subscription won't have to wait for the lockdown to end as the film is available to watch on the OTT platform. To celebrate this, Radhika Madan got her crew to celebrate but with a twist.
Considering there is a lockdown and no event and a gathering can be held, Radhika had a catch-up session with her team via video chat. She shared the picture on her Instagram account and said, "The #AngreziMedium squad is preppin’ to watch the #AngreziMediumPremiere on @disneyplushotstarvip - link in bio! Get your squad to watch the film, NOW!" In the image, we see director Homi Adajania, Kiku Sharda, Pankaj Tripathi, Ranvir Shorey, producer Dinesh Vijan and others. There is a box dedicated to Irrfan Khan but his picture is not available. Maybe, he connected through an audio call.
Angrezi Medium that released on March 13, 2020 is a story of a father who does everything to fulfill his daughter's dream to go abroad for further studies. Irrfan Khan is the father while Radhika Madan essays the role of his daughter. Kareena Kapoor Khan is seen in a special appearance in this film as a cop.
