Rajkummar Rao Reveals His FIRST Reaction After Journalist Informed Him About Sushant Singh Rajput's Death: ‘I Could Not Believe It’
Rajkummar Rao shared a brotherly bond with the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The two had worked together in films like ‘Kai Po Che’ and ‘Raabta’ and were loved by fans for their strong camaraderie. In a recent interview, Rajkummar recalled the day when a journalist called him and broke the heartbreaking news of Sushant’s demise to him. He revealed that he was numb and could not believe it. Rao took several days to come to terms with the harsh reality that SSR is no more.

Speaking with Mashable India, the Stree actor during the promotions of his film HIT: The First Case was asked how he dealt with the news of SSR’s tragic demise. Rajkummar was quoted as saying, “It was heart-breaking. I still remember I was at home and was about to have lunch. I got a call on my landline number a few times and I picked up. A journalist was there and she broke the news to me. He also revealed that he could not eat after that as he got very emotional. Last year, on the eighth anniversary of Kai Po Che, Rajkummar penned a heartfelt note remembering the late actor and called him 'dearest.'

Sushant Singh Rajput, who is widely known for playing Manav in Pavitra Rishta, was found dead in his apartment in Mumbai on 14th June 2020. He was 34. His death was investigated from several angles and a drug case was linked to his demise. The drugs-related investigation led to the arrest of Sushant’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty and her brother, Showik and they were granted bail.
