Rajpal Yadav Has No Regrets Turning Down An Offer To Play Jethalal In Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah
Rajpal Yadav feels it is better to sign roles penned for him, instead of stepping into someone’s else shoes
Known for his amazing comic timing, actor Rajpal Yadav was once offered to play a pivotal role in a popular TV show, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. The Bhool Bhulaiyaa actor in conversation with radio host Siddharth Kannan revealed turning down the offer to play Jethalal Gada portrayed by Dilip Joshi. He further shared having no regrets regarding it either. The actor feels Dilip Joshi is a fine actor who has given an identity to the character Jethalal, adding further he mentions an artist makes the character he plays.
Rajpal said, “Nahi, nahi. Jethalal ka character ki pehchaan ek achche adakaar, ek achche kalakaar ke haathon hui aur main har kirdaar ko kisi kalakaar ka kirdaar maanta hoon.” Also, the reason behind turning down the offer is that he didn’t want to step into the shoes of a character who already played another actor. The Waqt actor adds, “Humlog ek manoranjan ki market mein hai toh main kisi kalakaar ke kirdaar mein apne kirdaar ko fit nahi karna chahta."
Hence, the actor hopes that he is fortunate enough to play roles penned for him over the ones where he needed to play a certain character already established by another actor.
“Toh mujhe aisa lagta hai ki jo bhi kirdaar bane, jo Rajpal ke liye bane, unko karne ka saubhagya mile, lekin kisi doosre kalakaar ke rachaye basaye kirdaar ko kabhi nibhaane ka mauka nahi mile,” he added. ALSO READ: Rajpal Yadav Changes His Name, REVEALS The Reason Behind It - Find Out Here
