Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra To Produce A Biopic On A War Hero

After Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra is set to produce another biopic. This time around, his story revolves around rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat, a 22-year-old soldier who lost his life in the 1962 Indo-China war.
Rawat killed 2 Chinese soldiers and wounded several others before he was felled by the enemy’s bullets. He was awarded MahaVir Chakra posthumously.
His story has caught the attention of the Rang De Basanti director. While he will be producing it, Sanjay Khanduri (who directed Ek Chalis Ki Last Local) will be directing it. The treatment of the story will be similar to that of Rang De Basanti where they used Bhagat Singh and other freedom fighters and connected them to todays youth.
The cast is yet to be finalised.
