Ranbir: FTII Students Need An Aspirational Figure As Chairman
There are a million reasons why we like Ranbir Kapoor. One of them is his forthrightness.

The actor has, once again, proved that he is all for standing for a cause he believes in - popular opinion be damned! Ranbir has spoken out in support of the FTII protest.

For those who've come in late, the students of the premier institute have been on an indefinite strike over the appointment of BJP MP Gajendra Chauhan as the chairman (FTIstudents on indefinite strike against new Chairman, June 12).

It has been 27 days since the protest is on. The students even had a meeting with the Information and Broadcasting Ministry on July 3, but an amicable outcome is nowhere in sight.

The protest has found support from Bollywood celebrities like Kiran Rao, Piyush Mishra and Resul Pookutty among others.

Now, it has got further momentum with Ranbir joining the cause. The actor has spoken his mind in a special video made by FTII students.
Watch it here:

Ranbir's not the only one. Kalki Koechlin too was just as vocal.

Kick star Nawazuddin Siddiqui too stated that so much "political interference is not required in a creative institute."

While B-town celebs are making their voice heard, the situation at FTII is turning worse. Actor Pallavi Joshi has written to the I&B Ministry saying that she doesn't want to be a part of FTII society following the appointment of Chauhan as the chairperson. She added "creativity and art can't prosper amid negativity."
