Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are the most loved couple in B’Town. Soon-to-be parents Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor were spotted together for the first time post the announcement of their pregnancy. However, while Alia Bhatt has been undergoing body transformation owing to her pregnancy, the actress has been gaining weight.
Meanwhile, it was Ranbir Kapoor who invited the netizen’s wrath when he joke about pregnant wife Alia Bhatt's weight gain and it was naturally deemed as 'insensitive'. Alia Bhatt is setting new work goals as she continues to work amid pregnancy. The couple is currently on a promotional spree for their upcoming film 'Brahmastra' virtually, via a live session.
When quizzed why they aren't going on a multi-city tour to promote the upcoming film, Alia replied, "We will promote the film, and we will be everywhere but if the question you are asking is why we are not phailod everywhere, right now our focus is..."
Ranbir cut in and pointed at his wife's baby bump and said, "Well, I can say somebody has phailod."
His comment made Alia’s jaw drop in surprise which prompted him to add that he meant it only as a joke.
"If he is saying this on camera, think what he says in private... but he has made loads of such comments with Katrina and Anushka.. and they both give it back to him then and there," said a user. Reacting to the clip, an Instagram user wrote, “This is sad to watch.”
"That was a disgusting joke to say to a pregnant woman," another wrote. Another slammed the actor saying, "I can’t believe he said that! Ranbir is a 40-year-old man child with no common sense. Alia deserves better."
"Wtf was this? who talks like this about his own wife who is pregnant? I still remember his and Katrina's interview during Jagga Jasoos, he was so disrespectful to her. and this was not funny, we didn't laugh," said another.
"I'm not a fan of Alia but she is pregnant ffs!! I mean come on her husband himself shamed her about her weight then what more can we expect from the public? so this should come as no surprise," another said in response to a Twitter post. Meanwhile, on the work front, Ranbir and Alia will share screen space for the first time in 'Brahmastra. Interestingly, the film that also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Mouni Roy is slated to release on September 2.
