Actor Ranveer Singh and filmmaker Zoya Akhtar garnered a lot of praises from critics and the fans for their film Gully Boy. After working together on films Dil Dhadakne Do and Gully Boy, there have been rumours that filmmaker Zoya Akhtar and actor Ranveer Singh are gearing up for their third film together. Now, according to reports, the ’83 actor is romantically paired opposite Katrina Kaif in Zoya Akhtar’s next gangster drama. What’s more exciting is that Ranveer and Katrina will be seen together on the big screen for the first time.

Ranveer Singh and Zoya Akhtar will be teaming up for the third time for a gangster drama after working on films Dil Dhadakne Do and Gully Boy, according to a report in Pinkvilla.com. A source in the report revealed that the film will again be in the dark, gritty space that Gully Boy was. The insider said, “After Dil Dhadakne Do and Gully Boy, Ranveer will be seen in Zoya's next gangster drama. It's again in the dark, gritty space that Gully Boy was. Ranveer has already okayed the film.” The source also added that the filmmaker-actor duo were in the process of finalising dates when the lockdown happened and mentioned that Ranveer will sort out his dates for his films in the pipeline before jumping on to Akhtar’s next.

As per the report, actress Katrina Kaif will be romantically paired on screen with Ranveer. Talking about Katrina Kaif’s role in the film, the source said, “Katrina and Ranveer will be romantically paired on screen for the first time. She has a very interesting and powerful role, integral to the life of Ranveer's character in the film.” The source added that as Katrina and Zoya are buddies, when the director narrated the script to the actress, she immediately agreed to be a part of it. The report further stated, “The modalities are currently being discussed before both the stars sign on the dotted line."



Meanwhile, with Katrina also featuring in the gangster drama, it will be the first film of the actress with Ranveer and her second with Akhtar. On the other hand, speaking of Ranveer Singh, the actor is enjoying his quarantine break with wife Deepika Padukone, while Katrina Kaif is busy staying connected with fans through social media during the lockdown.
