Shaad Ali’s plans to make a triumphant return to Bollywood with OK Jaanu, the much-hyped romance starring Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur, did not go as per plan.

The film, a Hindi remake of Shaad’s mentor Mani Ratnam’s 2015 blockbuster OK Kanmani, did not get great reviews and then failed to make a splash at the box-office too.
While Bollywood is full of fair-weather friends, it looks like Shaad has a few true friends.
Ranveer Singh is one such close pal of the filmmaker’s.

Shaad Ali and Ranveer Singh share a dynamic equation with each other. Even before Ranveer made his debut in Bollywood, the actor assisted Shaad for a year.
While Ranveer then went on to become a hitmaking actor, Shaad had not tasted success in many years.
He had even roped in Ranveer for Kill Dil, which was produced under the YRF banner. That project, featuring Govinda, Ali Zafar and Parineeti Chopra too was a much-hyped film but tanked at the box-office.
On Saturday, it looked like Ranveer was lending a shoulder for Shaad to cry on.
Ranveer had a rare day off in between shoots and decided to spend it with the filmmaker.
The star reached Shaad’s Juhu home at 4 in the evening on Saturday and stayed holed up there for the next ten hours.
He finally left Shaad’s place at 2 am on Sunday morning.
Though the reason behind this long meeting is not clear, buzz is, a collaboration between Ranveer and Shaad is in the offing.

As of now, Ranveer has resumed shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati, featuring Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor, in Mumbai after the film’s set in Jaipur was destroyed by the Rajput Karni Sena.
So after that long meeting, is an announcement around the corner?
