Get set go! Akshay Kumar launches Taapsee Pannu’s first look from Rocket Rashmi and it is an absolute WOW!
It’s raining first looks in Bollywood, quite literally! After Janhvi Kapoor as Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl and Sonam Kapoor from The Zoya Factor, we have now got our hands on Taapsee Pannu’s look from her upcoming film, Rashmi Rocket. Yes! While her latest film – Mission Mangal – is yet to be pulled away from the cinemas, she has announced her next. Interestingly, the teaser poster of Rashmi Rocket, featuring Taapsee Pannu, has been unveiled by none other her Mission Mangal co-star, Akshay Kumar.
In the motion poster, Taapsee Pannu was in a never-seen-before avatar. Dressed up in a red suit, the actor started running amid a dessert, it then moves to an athlete Taapsee running on a race track. Well, another inspiring women-centric film on the cards for Taapsee. In the film, the Pink actor will be seen playing the role of a Gujarati athlete named Rashmi, who is so fast that she is fondly known as ‘Rashmi Rocket’ in her village and that’s where the makers got the film’s name from.

Tapsee Pannu, in an interview with DNA, opened up on playing an athlete in Rashmi Rocket, “This story instantly hit the right chord when I heard the idea. It’s one of those few films I was waiting to be developed into a script for me to do. Funnily, I have been made to run in almost every film I’ve done in every other genre. But this time, it’s going to be an out-and-out athlete’s tale. What excited me the most was the human drama that unfolds in her life and that makes it much more than a regular story of an athlete.”
Rashmi Rocket is going to be helmed by Karwaan filmmaker Akarsh Khuranna and backed by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP films.
