Actress Raveena Tandon, who is known to speak up her mind, has finally broken her silence about the bombs that were sent to former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in her name during the Kargil War. In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, the Mohra actress admitted that she saw the viral photos on the internet much later. For the unversed, during the Kargil War in 1999, some Indian soldiers had engraved the words “From Raveena Tandon To Nawaz Sharif" on a large bomb and sent it to the then Pakistan PM Nawaz as he had said that Tandon is his favourite actress. The pictures of the bombs with her name imprinted went viral back then.
Raveena has now opened up about it and said, “I would advise the whole world that if anything can be negotiated with love and talk, please do it. Khoon ka rang laal idhar bhi hai aur udhar bhi. No one should feel proud about any mother losing their sons or daughters... If I have to stand there (defending the border) to safeguard my country, de do mere haath mein bandook, main vahaan khadi ho jaaungi.”
During one of his visits to India, Nawaz Sharif had once said that Raveena is her favourite actress. Thus, the Indian soldiers had sent him bombs in her name. Meanwhile, the actress recently made her OTT debut with Netflix’s web series' Aranyak', where she played a police officer. She will next be seen in the upcoming movie K.G.F: Chapter 2 with Sanjay Dutt. ALSO READ: Raveena Tandon Shows Her Goofy Side In THIS Fun-Filled BTS Video From The Sets Of 'Aranyak' -Check Out
