Rear Nudity And Woman's Undergarment Are The Two New Spanners In Amrish Puri's Grandson Vardhan's Debut
We brought you the story that Amrish Puri's grandson Vardhan's debut Paagal, produced by his dad Rajeev Puri has met with strong objection from the CensorBoard as far as its title goes. Puris have been told in no uncertain terms that they ought to change the title and even words like paagal and pagalpan from the narrative. Don't worry, filmmakers- it's not if you use the word 'paagal' in lighter context (pagal ho tum, pagalpan chhodo), or say, in romantic context (dil toh pagal hai, main tere pyar mein pagal). The problem would arise if and when the word 'pagal' has been used in hinting at someone being clinically mad.

SpotboyE.com has a copy of the Censor Board's objection in question. Now, in that list of cuts/modifications that Team Prasoon Joshi (CBFC, CEO) had demanded, there are a few more things that Rajeev Puri has to work on. CBFC has asked for modification of a scene that depicts rear nudity. CBFC also wants the deletion of the mention of a woman's undergarment at one place.

When contacted last time,  Rajeev Puri said he had received the changes that the Censor Board wants and he is working on them. "We are not upset. We are making the changes."

Vardhan had also spoken then, "We think that kuch cheezein aisi hoti hai which will help us in the narrative but kuch cheezon pe unhone (Censors) light daali jaise ki some things which are related to social stigma, and at the end of the day, it made a lot of social sense. We discussed with our team and felt that the changes that have been asked for, don't affect the film. We are doing the modifications. We are a responsible family and shall never insist on anything which can degrade somebody."

Well, Puris are certainly making the changes. Lekin kaam kaafi hai. The film's release date that Rajeev Puri had said he'll announce very soon is not yet out.

Let's hope that the legend Amrish Puri's grandson's maiden film speeds up the work that is going on to make the changes.
