Gadar: Ek Prem Katha director, Anil Sharma’s son, Utkarsh, is all set to
make his debut with Genius. Last month, it was reported that Nawazuddin
Siddiqui has joined the cast of the project.

character he is playing.
Says a source, “The movie is essentially about two
geniuses, both of whom use their abilities for different reasons. While Utkarsh
essays the one who aims to bring about a positive change, Nawazuddin is, in a
way, the antagonist.”

Genius will also feature Mithun Chakraborty in a pivotal
role. Elaborating on Mihun’s role, Anil Sharma had told a leading portal
earlier this year, “He's a National Security Advisor who shares a rapport with
my son Utkarsh's character, who is an IIT topper and a genius. The
film is a battle of the heart, fought with the mind.”

Meanwhile, in an interview with SpotboyE.com, Anil Sharma had spoken at length about launching son Utkarsh.

Elaborating on why he decided to direct his first film,
he said, “80 per cent of his scenes in Gadar (where Utkarsh was a child
artiste) did not require a retake. I knew from then that he had it in him to
make it as an actor.”
He added, “It is my script--- but Utkarsh was definitely
involved at every stage of writing.”
Coming back to Nawazuddin’s role, after being in the
news for all the wrong reasons owing to his book ‘An Ordinary Life’, it will be
interesting to see how he dons the ‘genius’s’ hat.
