A drug angle surfaced in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case after certain WhatsApp messages of Rhea Chakraborty were accessed by news channels. The Narcotics Control Bureau has been investigating the drugs angle and on Friday, the agency had arrested Rhea’s brother Showik, and Sushant’s house manager Samuel Miranda. Today, Rhea Chakraborty was interrogated by the NCB and as per India Today, Rhea admitted to role in drug case, and she will be summoned for questioning by the NCB again tomorrow.
According to India Today, Rhea Chakraborty’s investigation by the NCB has concluded for the day, and that she has been summoned for questioning by NCB again tomorrow. Sources told India Today that Rhea confessed during the interrogation that she was procuring drugs for Sushant Singh Rajput through her brother Showik Chakraborty. She reportedly admitted she was coordinating with Showik to arrange drugs for Sushant Singh Rajput. Sources also informed India Today that Rhea knew her brother was buying drugs from Basit for Sushant.
She also reportedly said during the questioning that she had never consumed drugs, and that she was confronted with WhatsApp chats wherein she allegedly asked her brother Showik to arrange drugs.
Meanwhile, earlier, Rhea Chakraborty’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde said that Rhea is ready for arrest and that it is a witch hunt. He was quoted saying by Hindustan Times, “If loving someone is a crime she’ll face consequences of her love. Being innocent she hasn’t approached any court for anticipatory bail in all cases foisted by Bihar Police with CBI, ED and NCB.”
