Film Career:
Before setting her foot in the showbiz world, Rakul started her career as a model, during which she also made her acting debut in the Kannada film named Gilli in 2009. In 2011, she even participated in the Femina Miss India pageant and won five pageant titles including People's Choice Miss Indiatimes, Pantaloons Femina Miss Fresh Face, Femina Miss Talented, Femina Miss Beautiful Smile and Femina Miss Beautiful Eyes. After which, she made her Telugu debut with Keratam followed by her Tamil debut with Thadaiyara Thaakka. In the year 2014, Rakul made her Bollywood debut with Divya Kumar's Yaariyan which did not create buzz at the box-office.

Rumours were rife that Ms Singh was dating Baahubali actor Rana Daggubati but then they both maintained that they are just friends. However, in an interview, Rakul said that whenever she talks to a guy, her brother would complain to her parents. Hence, Rakul revealed that because of her brother, she still avoids being in a relationship.
Early Life:
Rakul, who is 29 years-old, belongs to a Punjabi family from Delhi and she did her schooling from Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan and later studied Mathematics at Jesus and Mary College, University of Delhi. Her father was an army officer.

Rakul Preet received the Best Actress (Jury) awards in the CineMAA Awards for her performance in Loukyam but was nominated for Best Actress at 62nd Filmfare Awards South for the same film. She bagged Zee Telugu Apsara Awards for Most Popular Heroine of the Year and Style Icon of the Year. She also won Zee Golden Awards for Favorite Heroine of the Year for her role in Rarandoi Veduka Chudham also starring Naga Chaitanya.
