Rhea Chakraborty’s Bail Plea Rejected By Mumbai Sessions Court; Actress, Brother Showik Chakraborty To Approach Bombay High Court
After three days of questioning by the NCB, Rhea Chakraborty was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau on Tuesday. The NCB had earlier arrested Rhea's brother Showik Chakraborty, Sushant Singh Rajput's house manager Samuel Miranda, among others. The hearing of Rhea and Showik’s bail plea took place yesterday at Mumbai sessions court, and now, according to Republic, Rhea Chakraborty and Showik’s bail plea has been rejected by the court.

Republic reports that Rhea and Showik's bail plea has been rejected by the Mumbai sessions court, which implies that, Rhea, Showik, Miranda, Dipesh, Zaid, and Basit will remain in jail. Meanwhile, sources informed Republic that Rhea Chakraborty and brother Showik will approach the Bombay High Court, challenging the sessions court's order. Meanwhile, Sushant's friend Smita Parikh reacted to the news and wrote, "Special court rejects the bail plea filed by Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty & all other accused in the drug case.!!! Rhea release will hamper the drug case, rejected bail plea!!  Bollywood now throw your next card."

Rhea Chakraborty, in her bail plea had reportedly said that while she was in custody, she was coerced into making 'self-incriminating' confessions.







According to Times Of India,  Rhea had moved the special Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) court seeking bail and had retracted her statement to the NCB. As per TOI, Rhea's plea stated, “The NCB has used these basic facts to spin a false narrative that portrays Rhea as being someone who finances the illicit traffic or harbouring of offenders. There is no allegation of Rhea having procured or financed any drug whatsoever outside of the period during which she was in a relationship with Rajput.”
