Rhea Chakraborty Threat Case: FIR Filed Against 2 Instagram Users For Allegedly Threatening The Actress
Mumbai Police has reportedly registered FIR against 2 Instagram users for allegedly threatening actor Rhea Chakraborty. The actress had earlier shared a screenshot of a hate message she received on Instagram after Sushant Singh Rajput’s death
Sushant Singh Rajput’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty took to her social media more than a month after Sushant’s demise to share the hate messages, rape and murder threats she has been receiving on Instagram. After being subjected to hatred and abuse online, Rhea had requested the cyber crime cell to look into this matter and take necessary action. Now, Mumbai Police has reportedly registered FIR against 2 Instagram users for allegedly threatening Rhea Chakraborty, and an investigation in the case is being conducted.
A report in PTI stated that the FIR was registered against the 2 Instagram users. An official added that the location of these two accused remains to be traced, and that the investigation in the case is currently at primary stage. Santacruz police station’s senior inspector Shriram Koregaonkar told news agency PTI, “We registered the First Information Report (FIR) on Saturday under Indian Penal Code Sections 507 (criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication), 509 (intending to insult modesty of any woman) and relevant provisions of the Information Technology Act.”
The senior inspector also added that no arrest has been made so far and that they are conducting an investigation in the case.
It was on Thursday that Rhea Chakraborty shared a screenshot of the rape and murder threats she had been receiving after Sushant’s death. She wrote, “I was called a gold digger ..I kept quiet I was called a murderer ....I kept quiet I was slut shamed ....I kept quiet But how does my silence give you the right to tell me that you will get me RAPED and MURDERED if I don’t commit suicide @mannu_raaut ? Do you realize the seriousness of what you have said? These are crimes, and by law no one, I repeat NO ONE should be subjected to this kind of toxicity and harassment .
