The Narcotics Control Bureau has been investigating the drugs link in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, and Rhea Chakraborty had been arrested on Tuesday. Earlier, her brother Showik had also been arrested by the NCB, and the hearing of Rhea and Showik’s bail plea took place yesterday at Mumbai sessions court. The judgment was to be pronounced today, and Republic reported that Rhea and Showik’s bail plea has been rejected by the court. Now, after this, the counsel for NCB has denied claims that Rhea Chakraborty was coerced.

The counsel for NCB addressed the media, and Times Now reported him saying that the Court is satisfied that Rhea's statements were all voluntary and not influenced. He said that Rhea’s claim that she was coerced is not true. . Meanwhile, the defense lawyers of all the accused will be able to move to Bombay High Court, he reportedly said. Times Of India had reported that Rhea Chakraborty, in her plea, stated that while was in custody, she was coerced into making ‘self incriminating’ confessions.

Rhea, in her plea, reportedly said, “The NCB has used these basic facts to spin a false narrative that portrays Rhea as being someone who finances the illicit traffic or harbouring of offenders. There is no allegation of Rhea having procured or financed any drug whatsoever outside of the period during which she was in a relationship with Rajput,” as quoted by TOI.
