Richa Chadha On Sex Education At the Trailer Launch Of Section 375; Says ‘In The Absence Of It Young Boys And Girls Will Turn To Pornography’
The trailer of Section 375 is out today and this courtroom drama is ready to make an impact on society with its hard-hitting subject. Section 375 has Akshaye Khanna, Richa Chadha, Meera Chopra & Rahul Bhat in lead roles and the film promises to be a hard-hitting one, giving us goosebumps and leaving us with several unanswered questions. During the trailer launch of the film, Richa Chadha shared her views speaking on how in the absence of sex education young boys and girls will turn to pornography.

Section 375 is based on Section 375 of Indian Penal Code laws and the film brings light to the essential subjects related to assaults and rapes in the society wherein every story has three sides, His story, His story , and the truth. During the trailer launch of the film, actress Richa Chadha was asked about her views on the subject related to sex education by a reporter. The reporter questioned, “Choti umhra se hi bacho ko is baat ki jaankariyaa batana chahiye. Toh apko kya lagta hai ki is tarah ki cheese section jo hai bahut important hai inko school education se hi, bhale higher studies se introduce kiya jaana chahiye, taaki ladkiyo main bhi awareness ho, ki kya hai yeh section?”

Answering the reporter’s question, Richa said, “ I think sex education apne aap main bahut jaroori cheez hai, aur I don’t think anybody will disagree ke ab jab se data free ho gaya hai, you hear of these cases, ke juveniles ne gang rape karke video upload kar diya, rape videos are very popular on porn sites. So in the absence of sex education, young boys and young girls will turn to pornography for sex education that is such a skewed way of looking at the world that is so wrong at a very base level. Is cheez ko rectify karne ke liye it’s all the more important to have a discussion, whether at home agar aap comfortable nahi hai aapne bacho ke saath toh school main baat kar lijiye. Mere school main tha sex education and it really helped, we had a great relationship between boys and girls. It was a coed school and bahut farq padta hai aapke overall life and upbringing pe, toh ye zaroori hai. Mujhe yeh nahi pata ke constitution padhane ki jaroorat hai ya nahi toh woh lawyers padhte hi hai, yeh toh bahut basic baat hai ki rape ya molest ya assault karna galat hai, aur yeh sab jaante hai, par bawajoot iske jo log karte hai, unke dimaag main bhi kuch ek matlab they say, criminal bent of mind, ek pravriti hoti hai, us cheez ko address karne ke liye I think sex education is very essential.” Being open about her thoughts and views the actress has indeed tried to imply a change in society.

Section 375 is directed by Ajay Bahl and produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak & SCIPL co-produced by Sanjeev Joshi and Aditya Chowksey. The film revolves around a director played by Rahul Bhat being accused of rape by costume assistant played Meera Chopra. Besides this, it also showcases the actors’ lives outside their profession, thinking about their responsibilities towards society.

Section 375 is scheduled to release on September 13, 2019
