India is once again mourning the loss of Bollywood’s and India’s one of the finest actors Rishi Kapoor. After fighting against cancer for 2 long years, the veteran actor succumbed to Leukemia today early morning. The actor was admitted to hospital, last night with Neetu Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor by his side. Actor’s girlfriend Alia Bhatt was amongst the early birds followed by his niece Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Abhishek Bachchan to arrive at the hospital to pay their last respects.

Ever since the news broke, his close buddies from the film fraternity are paying tribute to the actor. Rishi Kapoor’s dearest friend Anil Kapoor too shared a picture from their childhood and penned an emotional tribute. Anil Kapoor’s caption read, “To my dear James, I don't know where to begin... from growing up to living our dreams on screen, we were together through it all... you were like an elder brother to me, a shoulder when I needed the support, a mentor when I needed that push and a friend always. Thank you for the endless love you gave my family and me.”

“You were like a son to my mother and you knew that Krishna aunty was always like a mother to me... Along everything that you were for your friends and family, you were a beacon of inspiration for cinema lovers everywhere... I will miss you everyday... nothing will be the same without you... but I will celebrate your life like you wanted us to... Yours Patton Forever. (sic),” his message read further.

Anil Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor worked together in a number of films, including Vijay (1988), Gurudev (1993) and Karobar: The Business of Love (2000). Rishi Kapoor breathed his last at 67 and is survived by wife Neetu Kapoor, daughter Riddhima Kapoor and son Ranbir Kapoor.
