Rishi Kapoor: Media Has The Power To Make Or Break A Person; Film Stars Don’t!

The Rishi Kapoor-media controversy, which cropped up during the Kapoor’s Ganpati Visarjan, has taken a U-Turn!
From sympathies being with the reporter who was victim of Chintu Ji’s anger, to Rishi Kapoor denying the news of raising his hand on the reporter, this controversy has a lot grey shades!
Recently Rishi addressed the issue at the Giants 44th Anniversary and Awards Nite. Deviating from his speech at the event, Rishi took the opportunity to clarify his side. He said, “Apki (media) har baat sar aankhon par sir, lekin jab koi patrakar apni maryaada, apni rekha se bahar chala jaaye, toh uska kya kiya jaaye? Media has the liberty which it can misuse against anyone, but we film stars don’t have that power! How do we bring our side of the story in public? Media spoiled my name, but now I will prove (my side) and vindicate myself!”
Well, Rishi Kapoor is most of the times in news because of his bold statements and opinions. This time the issue got dragged a tad bit as it involved physical violence.
You may recall on the eve of Kapoor’s Ganpati Visarjan, a young reporter from a TV Channel asked Randhir Kapoor for a byte. Little did he know that it would infuriate the actor to such an extent that he would slap him! Yes, you read that right. Randhir ended up slapping this young reporter. That's not all; even Rishi Kapoor pushed a journalist who was right beside him. (Randhir Kapoor Slaps Reporter, Sept 15).
This didn’t go down well with the media reporter and in no time the videos of Kapoor Khandaan’s gussa went viral on social media. However, Rishi claims the video was tampered with. He said that it only has visuals which show him in bad light and doesn’t include what the reporter did at that time.
A while ago, Rishi Kapoor took to his Twitter account and expressed his disbelief. He wrote:
Now, with the new turn of events, it remains to be seen if the Kapoors can prove what really happened.
