Hate waking up to such news. After Irrfan Khan, actor Rishi Kapoor passed away this morning. He was 67. The actor was fighting a battle against cancer for a long time. Rishi Kapoor was hospitalized, last night with his wife and actress Neetu Kapoor by his side. His 102 Not Out co-star Amitabh Bachchan took to Twitter and broke the news of his sad demise. Now film fraternity is paying their condolences and tribute to the actor and his family.

Sharing a picture from their meet in New York, Priyanka Chopra captioned it, My heart is so heavy. This is the end of an era. #rishisir your candid heart and immeasurable talent will never be encountered again. Such a privilege to have known you even a little bit. My condolences to Neetu maam, Ridhima, Ranbir and the rest of the family. Rest in peace Sir.”

Tweeting about the shocking news, Amitabh Bachchan wrote, “He's GONE .. ! Rishi Kapoor .. gone .. just passed away .. I am destroyed !”Rishi Kapoor was diagnosed with cancer in 2018 and he had flown down to New York for the medical treatment. The actor had returned to India last year and had been spotted oftenly by paps.

Last night confirming his ill state, brother Randhir Kapoor had told Zoom, “He is serious but he is better now. That's all I want to say. His cancer has come back but he is better right now. As a family, we are extremely stressed out. We lost our sister, we lost our mother, we are praying for the best. We are greatly stressed out.
