RK Logo Retained By Godrej Builders; Incorporate Raj Kapoor's Studio Name As They Open Gates To Timeless Legacy
The Kapoor clan sold off the famous RK Studio in Chembur to Godrej Properties last year. Now, the real-estate firm has unveiled the project logo as it has retained the famous RK logo.
RK Studio in Chembur was an iconic attraction of the city. But the Kapoor clan decide to sell it off. Last year, Godrej Properties took over the land and even purchased the articles and accessories that were in the studio's possession. Now the real-estate firm has decided to create Bollywood-themed apartments at the said location. The logo of the project has been unveiled and much to our delight, they have retained the famous RK logo.
Godrej Properties made the announcement of its new project at RK Studio which has now been named as Godrej RKS. They have even retained the famous RK Studio logo that has a hero with a guitar holding his actress. Luxury apartments starting from Rs 6.9 crore will be built her. It is said to be Bollywood-themed as the construction company will use the accessories acquired to do the interiors. It was in 2018 that Kapoor parivaar decided to let go of RK Studio citing that it was not economically viable to maintain it.
Randhir Kapoor had quoted to Quint, "It’s [RK Studio] up for sale. We have not decided anything else. It’s not economically viable for us to set up a new studio - we had to dismantle the entire place after the fire. It’s, even more, an emotional loss than monetary loss. We have lost the entire memorabilia of Raj Kapoor. Whatever Raj Kapoor had built has been burnt down. Everything is gone."
RK Studio was inaugurated by Raj Kapoor during his directorial debut Aag (1948) under the banner of RK Films.
