Khan's involvement in the case stems from his association with 'The Lion Book App', which is alleged to be affiliated with the wider network of the Mahadev betting app. Prior to his arrest, Khan had already faced questioning by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Mumbai Police regarding his role in the matter. Additionally, Khan's partnership with 'The Lotus Book App', which he actively promoted and launched as 'Lotus Book 24/7', further implicates him in the ongoing investigation.

The SIT is delving into suspected illicit transactions involving financial and real estate entities in Maharashtra and the promoters of the Mahadev betting app. Khan, along with 31 others including Saurabh Chandrakar and Ravi Upal, is under intense scrutiny as part of this probe. Authorities are meticulously examining bank accounts, electronic devices, and other technical equipment to unravel the complexities of the case.

Renowned for his roles in films like 'Style' and 'Excuse Me', Khan has also made a name for himself as a fitness expert. However, his current predicament has cast a shadow over his professional endeavours. Amidst the unfolding investigation, only one arrest has been made thus far, signalling that the inquiry is still in progress. The magnitude of the alleged scam, estimated at approximately Rs 15,000 crore according to the FIR, underscores the gravity of the situation and the extensive efforts required to uncover the truth.
