Saif Ali Khan Shares His Secret To A Happy Marriage; Says He Doesn't Advise His Wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan On Social Media Usage
Saif Ali Khan has revealed that he doesn’t ask his wife Kareena Kapoor Khan to give the social media platform a break.
Kareena and Saif got married in 2012 in a grand wedding ceremony in Mumbai. The power couple has since been setting relationship goals, and they often share how they have kept their relationship alive - despite being so different from each other. Kareena Kapoor Khan is known to be one of the most socially active celebrities in B-town. The actress made her Instagram debut last year and she has since been sharing photos and videos of her workout sessions, her family trips and even pictures from her house parties. Saif and their sons Taimur and Jeh also feature in her posts. On the other hand, Saif is a social media recluse and doesn't even attend parties or award events.
But Saif Ali Khan says the secret to a happy and healthy marriage is letting the partner do their thing. The actor, in a recent interview, spoke about how he balances his wife's penchant for social media with his recluse. He told RJ Siddharth Kannan his secret to a happy marriage, adding that dictating what one should and shouldn't do is definitely not it.
“No, no, that's not the secret to a healthy marriage. You let each other do whatever they want. She's great on it [social media], she's a multi-tasker. She's a woman, so she can do that. You never really feel she's doing it in the sense that she's all there,” he said.
Saif added, “I'm easily addicted to the phone. And I got a headache in the car, really felt dizzy because I just couldn't put the phone down and it was a moving car so I felt really sick. So now, Taimur and Kareena, everyone's telling me 'Don't be on the phone.' So it's me actually, without being on social media, I'm addicted to the screen. But no, I don't tell her, it's great what she does.”
In retrospect, Kareena was known to be a socially active celebrity even when she did not have an official social media account. Previously, Karan Johar in his appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show said Kareena should handle the Ministry of Gossip Affairs. Making quite the revelation, he said: "She wakes up and calls her PR team for the day’s gossip. Then, she calls me up to confirm them."
Well, opposites attract, they say!
Work-wise, Kareena will next be seen in ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ co-starring Aamir Khan in the lead role. She also has Hansal Mehta’s next and Karan Johar’s ‘Takht’ in her kitty. Saif Ali Khan, on the other hand, will next be seen in Om Raut’s ‘Aadipurush’ which also stars Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Sunny Singh in the lead roles.
