Salman Khan Files Civil Suit Against His Panvel Farmhouse Neighbour; Court Rejects Actor’s Plea For Interim Order In Defamation Case-Report
Actor Salman Khan has reportedly filed a defamation suit before the Mumbai City Civil Court against his Panvel Farmhouse neighbour. Reportedly, the Sultan actor filed a civil suit against Ketan Kakkad, a Non-Resident Indian (NRI), and others for allegedly making derogatory remarks against him and his family over a land sale transaction. Salman alleged that Ketan Kakkad, who owns a plot of land near his farmhouse in Panvel, defamed him during an interview with a YouTube channel.

According to media reports, Khan also filed an application for interim relief and moved an application seeking blocking/ suspending/withdrawing the social media accounts of the defendants where the derogatory content was shared. Now, in the latest development, The Mumbai court on Friday refused to pass any interim restraining order in favour of Salman. An Etimes report stated the court would hear the defamation suit filed by the actor on January 21.

Advocates Abha Singh and Aditya Pratap, who are representing Kakkad, stated that they received the papers last evening and had not been able to go through the entire suit. Singh also mentioned that there is no urgency in the matter as if Khan can wait for a month to file a suit, then some time should be granted to the Kakkad for his reply.


Thus, they have been given time to file a reply on behalf of Kakkad till the next hearing on January 21. In the suit, Salman Khan has also sought injunctive reliefs against the defendants in relation to various social media platforms. Reportedly, along with Kakkad, the suit also arraigned other individuals, social media giants like Facebook, Twitter, Google, YouTube along with their Indian counterparts.
