Bollywood superstar Salman Khan can heave a sigh of relief!  As per the latest reports, the Sultan actor is a free from 2019 case which was lodged against him by a journalist alleging misbehaviour. On Thursday, the Bombay High Court quashed the complaint lodged against the actor by a journalist who accused Salman and his bodyguard Nawaz Shaikh for abused and assaulting him for filming Khan while he was cycling on the road.

Reportedly, the HC also dismissed the summons issued by the Andheri court in March 2022.  A single bench of Justice Bharati Dangre stated that the applications filed by Salman Khan and his bodyguard are allowed. The actor and Shaikh have been asked to appear before the court on April 5. Last year, the Kick actor moved HC to challenge the summons, and in April HC stayed the summons pending the actor's petition hearing. In his petition, Salman dismissed complainant Pandey’s claims of abusing him. The actor mentioned there were “contradictions and improvisations” in Pandey's complaint and that he did not say anything. For the unversed, in April 2019 Pandey filed a private complaint before the magistrate seeking immediate action against Khan. He alleged that both Salman Khan and Shaikh abused and assaulted him while he was filming the actor when he was riding a cycle. In his complaint, Pandey even claimed that Salman snatched his mobile phone and abused him and that the incident was recorded by some media persons. 

The 57-year-old actor moved the High Court appealing to quash the complaint after summon was issued. Salman’s lawyer Aabad Ponda opined that Khan only asked his bodyguards to stop the journalist from shooting photos/ videos of him and that the accusations of physical assault are baseless.
