Salman Khan On End Of Stardom Due To OTT Emergence: ‘Era Of Stars Will Never Go, We Will Not Hand It Over To Younger Generation; Mehnat Karo Bhai’
Salman Khan, in a recent interview, spoke about the era of stardom in the age of OTT emergence and opined that stardom will never go
Bollywood’s Dabangg Salman Khan is awaiting the release of his upcoming actioner ‘Antim The Final Truth’. Directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, the film will see the superstar in the role of a Sikh cop and will see him pitted against his brother-in-law Aayush Sharma, who plays a deadly gangster in the movie. Salman, who is currently on a promotional spree for Antim, has opened up about the emergence of OTT and the rising demand for it amongst the audience. The actor also talked about if OTT would mark the end of stardom in the Hindi film industry.
In a recent media interaction, the Kick actor opined that stardom will never go. He was quoted saying, “We will go, somebody else will come up. I don't think that era of stars will go. It will never go. It will always be there. It now depends on a lot of things, selection of movies, what you are in real life, and more. It's a whole package of things. This younger generation will have their superstardom.”
The superstar added, “I have been hearing this for the last four generations, 'ki yeh last generation hain (this is the last generation of stars).' We will not leave it for the younger generation to take it easy. We will not hand it over to them. 'Mehnat karo bhai, pachas plus me mehnat kar hi rahe hain, toh aap bhi mehnat karo (work hard, we are working hard at the age of 50, you should also work hard).”
Talking about Antim The Final Truth, the flick, which is an adaptation of the Marathi hit Mulshi Pattern, marks Salman’s first collaboration with brother-in-law Aayush Sharma.
