Salman Khan starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan released in 2015, and the film was a huge hit! While Salman Khan’s performance was brilliant, as usual, child actor Harshaali Malhotra made a mark with her role as Munni in the film. It was her debut film and she played the role of a speech-impaired Pakistani Muslim child who gets separated from her mother in India and the movie revolves around her journey as she travels back to her homeland with the help of Pavan (Salman Khan).
Munni’s character played by Harshaali, was loved by one and all in the film, and her cuteness and brilliant acting chops won hearts. Harshaali was 7 years old back when the film released, and now, 5 years later, fans were surprised to see her all grown up. She shared pictures from Diwali and Bhai Dooh celebrations recently, and could be seen dressed in a traditional salwar suit. Fans flooded her comments, and expressed they were pleasantly surprised and that she looks somewhat different from what she did back in the film.
One user wrote, “Munny itni badi ho gayi,” to which Harshaali replied, “Itni badi bhi nahi huyi sirf 12 years ki hi toh ho.” Another fan wrote, “Can’t believe she is a teenager now.” Another fan wrote, “Yrr munny to bht bdi hogyi literally phchaan ni,” to which she replied, “aisa toh nahi hai ke pehchan hi nahi payoge… sab toh bolte hai bus height bad gayi hai face bilkul wahi hai.” Take a look at the pictures below:
Harshaali was nominated for Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut in 2015 and she was the youngest person to be nominated in the category. She also bagged the Screen Award for Best Child Artist, Zee Cine Awards for Best Debutante Female among other awards. Apart from Salman Khan and Harshaali Malhotra, Bajrangi Bhaijaan also starred Kareena Kapoor, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Meher Vij.
