If all goes well, Sanjay Dutt will co-produce the film based on his life, with Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Ranbir Kapoor gets into Sanjay's shoes to play the protagonist.
Sanjay had been working hard to grow his production house before he was imprisoned, but his efforts proved quite futile.
After he was imprisoned, his wife Manyata did not have the required experience to single-handedly run the show.
She signed Prabhu Dheva to direct a film for Sanjay Dutt Productions, but the film hasn't taken off till date.
Since August 27, Sanjay has been out on furlough. A source says, "Recently, Sanjay had long talks with Raju and Vidhu on his intention to co-produce his biopic. The modalities are fast being worked out. This film should put his production house firmly on track."
Sanjay has been serving a sentence for possessing illegal arms which were used in the Mumbai blasts of 1993. The Munna Bhai actor is expected to remain behind bars till February 2016.
