Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan shares an amazing bond with her mother, actress Amrita Singh. From crediting her for raising her as well as her brother Ibrahim Ali Khan single-handedly to always supporting them and guiding them, she looks up to her mother a lot. Having always openly discussed her weight loss journey, the Kedarnath actress made the headlines for gaining weight last year. Now, Sara has opened up about how Amrita gave her a reality check after she returned from her Europe vacation. 

Recalling the entire incident, during an interveiw with Film Companion, Sara was asked what keeps her grounded in real life. Talking about the same, she opened up about the incident, when she had made headlines for gaining weight during her vacation to Europe. The 28-year-old actress stated that it was her mother’s rude remark that gave her a reality check. She straight up questioned her daughter why she didn’t look after herself, especially when the media was writing good things about her. Quoted by BollywoodShaadis, the Ae Watan Mere Watan actress reminisced, “Yes, I came back from Europe last year overweight, and she was like, ‘What are you doing? What is going on? They write good things about you, Tere vaste falak se main chaand launga but you are looking like the sky yourself! Earlier in February, Sara Ali Khan had taken to her official social media handle to write an appreciation post for her mother. Sharing photos with her mother from the sets of her recent releases Murder Mubarak and Ae Watan Mere Watan, she wrote, “Meri Duniya meri Mommy Jaan. Aap mein bastein mere Praan. My biggest endeavour is to keep your Maan. And try to add to your splendid Aan Baan aur Shaan. Sorry for all the times I make you Hairaan. Doing all that you have isn’t Aasaan. Aur is pyaar ka hai parimann. Your endless mamta, patience and Dyaan. That have made me feel so secure- diya itna Amaan. Ki sapne dekh sakoon of udaan in Aasmaan. Thank you maa.. aur kaise karoon Bayaan? Ki aap hai mera poora Jahaan.”


On the work front, Sara Ali Khan was last seen in Laxman Utekar’s Zara Hatke Zara Bachke opposite Vicky Kaushal. She is currently awaiting the release of her upcoming OTT films Ae Watan Mere Watan and Murder Mubarak. She has Anurag Basu’s Metro... In Dino in her pipeline. The movie is a multi-starrer, boasting amazing talents from the Hindi film industry.
