Vicky Kaushal is gearing up for the release of his film Sardar Udham and the actor is leaving no stone unturned to create excitement amongst his fans. The actor has shared multiple pictures and videos from his upcoming film and from the looks of it, Vicky seems to have done justice to his character - Sardar Udham Singh.
Ahead of the film’s premiere, Vicky once again surprised his fans and followers on Thursday as he shared a glimpse of his character. Taking to Instagram, Vicky shared a close-up picture which featured him in a full-grown beard and long hair tied up. Vicky's rugged and unkempt look is indeed captivating.
Along with the photo, the actor shared the story of the man who took revenge for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in 1919. The note read, "1931, Prison, India. Udham Singh was in prison for possession of prohibited papers "Ghadr-i-Gunj" ("Voice of Revolt"). He was released later but under constant surveillance. Soon, he escaped to Europe and never got to return to India. #SardarUdham #SardarUdhamOnPrime | Oct 16."
Helmed by Shoojit Sircar, Sardar Udham is based on the life of revolutionary Sardar Udham Singh who assassinated Michael O’Dwyer, the lieutenant governor of Punjab at the time of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. The film focuses on the undeterred mission of Sardar Udham Singh to avenge the lives of his beloved brethren who were brutally killed in the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre of 1919. The film will start streaming on Amazon Prime Video on October 16.
Sardar Udham also features Shaun Scott, Stephen Hogan, Banita Sandhu, Kirsty Averton and Amol Parashar in pivotal roles. It has been produced by Rising Sun Films and backed by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar.
