Saroj Khan Death: Kangana Ranaut Says Sridevi Starrer Hawa Hawai And Dola Re Dola Are Her Favourite Songs Of Masterji
Kangana Ranaut paid her tribute to the ace choreographer of Bollywood, Saroj Khan, who breathed her last today in Mumbai. The choreographer was laid to rest in Muslim cemetery in Malad, suburbs of Mumbai, by her family. Kangana who donned the director’s hat with her movie, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi had roped in Saroj Khan to choreograph two songs from her movie titled, Tak Taki and Rajaji. Today the actress in conversation with ETimes spilled the beans about the late choreographer and some of her iconic works, Kangana is fond of.

During the conversation when it was asked which is her favourite iconic song choreographed by Saroj Khan and why? The actress though said all of masterji’s number being iconic, her personal favourite is Hawa Hawai from Sridevi-Anil Kapoor starrer Mr. India.  She said, “Saroj ji's songs are all iconic. I was most impressed with ‘Hawa Hawai’ because as a kid also, when I was very young, I used to love that song every time it came on Doordarshan. I used to run to see it.”

When Kangana once asked the choreographer from where did she come up with a particular expression of Sridevi she recalls of masterji telling, “I asked her about that song where Sridevi closes her eyes and does this very cuddly sort of an expression. I asked, ‘Saroj Ji, how did you come up with that?’ She said, ‘Because every time I put the camera on, she would not do that and she would get conscious about it, but in rehearsal she would do that cuddly expression fine. So I told everyone to roll the camera but don't tell her and that's how she got that expression right.’ It was lovely to know that she knew how to extract the perfect shot. It was not just the dance but those cute expressions, the faces that Sridevi was pulling off. ‘Mr. India’ was a lot about children, so there were a lot of kiddish expressions and it was nice to know it was from her.”

Kangana mentions Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Madhuri Dixit starrer Devdas where the two lit the screen with their Dola Re Dola performance that also happens to be her favourite. She adds, “Of course then, ‘Dola re Dola’ and there are so many more. Those are my favourites!”  ALSO READ: Saroj Khan Death: This UNSEEN Pic Of Late Choreographer With Sanjay Dutt-Madhuri Dixit From The Sets Of Khalnayak Is Pure Nostalgia
